We traveled down on the Saturday. We set up on Bowleaze Cove overlooking the bay of Weymouth (Site of the 2012 Olympic Sailing Regatta). This gave us an opportunity to get each of us up to speed with the routines we would be flying in the arena that weekend.
We will have at least four members of The Flying Squad to fly on both days (Stephen, Simon, Susan & Steve). With TC, as Field Director his time would be taken up by that. This did mean that Geoff & Ian could join as they wanted, to increase the show we put on. Luca was due to fly but his broken arm from earlier in the year meant that he wasn't able to due to the high winds. It was good to have Baz along all three days, he's a long time friend of "The Squad" and we appreciated having him along. We're really grateful also that he designed and built our custom no snag handles.
Sunday & Monday, we were lucky as the wind was coming in off the sea. So although it was strong (very strong at times) it was clean. On Sunday we fly some really nice routines, and were pleased by how much better it is to fly in good clean winds. Monday we were joined by some of the Rev forum members "Jonesy, Hippy Chippie, Yarna & Sailor".
